Who is Don Dion?
Donald Dion serves as Publisher and Chief Investment Strategist of Fidelity Independent Adviser, which provides various newsletters to nearly 100,000 subscribers. In addition, as president and founder of Dion Money Management, Don Dion is the primary architect of Dion investment strategies. Dion Money Management manages $840 Million as of June 1, 2007 and is responsible for creating custom portfolios for its clients, as well as monitoring their performance. Don Dion has over 25 years of experience with the stock market. Through founding and running two publicly traded companies, Don developed his expertise in analyzing financial statements of companies to uncover investment opportunities for his clients. His experience has enabled him to work closely with many mutual fund managers as well as with successful institutional investors.
Don’s career began at the international accounting firm, Ernst & Young, as a certified Public Accountant. He later joined the renowned law firm of Warner & Stackpole in Boston, where he practiced corporate and tax law until 1985. Don then became the Executive Vice President of Finance, Treasurer and Director of the Patten Corporation and later founded Patten Financial Services Corporation, where he served as President for 2 years.
Mr. Dion subsequently founded Litchfield Financial Corporation, where he served as the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer for eight years. He managed the initial public offering of Litchfield in 1992, which was acquired by the Textron Financial Corporation in 1999. Don earned his B.A. at Saint Michael’s College, his J.D. from the University of Maine School of Law, and his LL.M. degree in Taxation from the Boston University School of Law. Mr. Dion is a licensed attorney in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and the State of Maine. Having passed NASD Series 7 and Series 65 exams, Mr. Dion is an investment advisor representative registered in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and the State of Florida.
